Glen Iris House, 2024

Glen Iris Victoria, Australia

Located in a leafy street and a large inner-city block, Glen Iris House is a large family home, exploring the qualities of insitu concrete, form, light and spatial environments.

From the street, the form is restrained, abstract and private, softened by the lush landscape which intertwines both internal and external spaces. The structure is predominantly insitu concrete, glass and steel, with each element expressed and exposed.

Internally, spaces evolve from being private, to open, with internal gardens and water softening the concrete shell, whilst light falls from the skylights beyond. Characteristic of the studios work, internal and external spaces are blurred by physical and planting elements, shifting beyond the envelope.
